In April 2005 Island Tug was the first Canadian tug and barge company to be awarded the
Exceptional Compliance Program Award (ECOPRO) from Washington State Department of Ecology for excellence
in marine safety and environmental stewardship.

The Washington State Department of Ecology Spills Program
manages a unique non-regulatory environmental protection program for tank vessels. The Exceptional Compliance Program (ECOPRO) gives public recognition
for companies who show their commitment to marine safety and environmental stewardship. Each company must pass a stringent set of standards and inspections to qualify.
Island Tug and Barge is a recipient of the 2001 Legacy Award for Oil Spill Prevention, Preparedness, and Response.
