The ITB Pioneer is a modern oil tank barge having an aggregate capacity of 16,000 Barrels carried in 12 separate tanks. Designed to IMO compliance for double hulling, the inner skin was 'surgically' removed on the drafting table to allow for carriage of more cargo until a future date where the barge may be double hulled at relatively low cost. Equipped with 4 independent pumping and discharge systems, the Pioneer can deliver to both small and large facilities. The ITB Pioneer is equipped for closed loading and vapour recovery, with a common vent/overfill system that connects to shore side vapour systems. Overfill alarms and protection systems are provided via portable electronics. The ITB Pioneer is equipped with a large bow ramp and a wood sheathed deck for the carriage of heavy equipment and deck cargos. The Pioneer carries packaged petroleum products and bulk propane which are delivered via mobile machinery carried on deck.
Fitted with a pushing notch, the ITB Pioneer normally trades between Vancouver, and the coastal communities of British Columbia.
