The Island Monarch is a proven off shore tug of 3000 horsepower completely rebuilt by Island Tug in 1995. The Monarch is primarily engaged in pushing and towing of Island Tug's large oil barge fleet. With a 10,000 mile range, and large capable towing gear, the Monarch has proven her capabilities in many ocean tows.
In 2003, the Island Monarch underwent a conversion to an articulated pin system with advanced high lift rudders and upgrades for foreign going service.
