ECOPRO Award Ceremony - April 26, 2005 The
Exceptional Compliance Program (ECOPRO) Award was presented to ITB President,
Bob Shields on April 26,2005 at the Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center on Pier
66, 2205 Alaska Way, in Seattle. The award ceremony was followed by a short
reception for Ecology officials and company representatives. Island Tug is the
first Canadian tug and barge company to be awarded the Exceptional Compliance
Program Award (ECOPRO) from Washington State Department of Ecology for
excellence in marine safety and environmental stewardship. See photos . . .
Island Trader
Commissioning - November 14, 2003 Island Tug and Barge commissioned the
Island Trader on November 14, 2003. A traditional bottle of champagne was
broken against the hull by Betty Shields in a ceremony held at the head office
and docks of ITB. President Bob Shields, VP Operations Jack Davies and General
Manager Steve Pollock thanked the many people involved in the building of the
new double-hulled barge. A celebration for customers, suppliers and staff was
held afterwards with lunch, music, and cake. See photos . . .
ITB Provider
Commissioning - October 5, 2001 Island Tug and Barge commissioned the
ITB Provider on October 5, 2001. Cathy Farmer, wife of ITB Chief Fleet
Engineer, had the honour of breaking the champagne bottle against the hull to
symbolically christen the new vessel. See photos . . . |
